A more adventurous approach was made with the optional
records and song books that were available from the local Stylophone outlet, or by mail order direct from Dubreq in London. These offered a wider choice of styles. The tune books included Pop Music (books 1 & 2), and Middle of the Road.
The music books, which came with a play-along record and
extra keyboard overlay, included a choice of Christmas Carols & Traditional Tunes, Glen Miller, Latin American and Films & Shows. |
|
They provided a colourful addition to the range, and the tunes selected offered a broader range of musical taste and
preference. They were basically re-recorded backing tracks, (a sort of 'Kareoke' affair), with an occasional 'hint' of the melody you should be playing if you got lost along the way!. |

They could of course be used with any instrument to play along with,
but due to the very limited range of the Stylophone, (1.5 octaves), the songs were probably chosen with some amount of care in order not to over stretch the Stylophone.
This Latin American Album (left) contained 8 tracks, including Blue
Moon, Brazil, It had To be You, and Chinatown.
A 9th track; number one on side one; was a prolonged single note 'A',
in order for the Stylophone to be tuned for the tracks that followed. |

Music Book & Record 1. (2 versions).
